Last night I was craving a little ‘seefood’ meal. I wanted to have a little flavor of the sea but not actually eat anything from the sea. Ya dig? Up top🖐🏻Like I wanted to SEE the FOOD and then I wanted to EAT the FOOD. I don’t know what I’m saying, but either way, I wanted to make tofish. The best way I know to make things taste a little like the sea, without it being fishy, is to use @oldbay_seasoning . Honestly, this one of my favorite spices. You can add it to anything. Either way, since I’m not eating the real thing, I don’t have to worry about my little tofish being scooped up and taken across the bay and put into an aquarium with strangers, only to have some little girl thinking she’s gonna make a pet out of it🌱
Recipe:
1/2 sweet potato, shredded or spiraled
1 garlic clove
Salt/pepper/chives
1 tsp old bay
1 tsp butter
Oil for cooking
2 thick slices of extra firm tofu
Preheat oven to 350. Rub both sides tofu slices with old bay, salt and pepper. Set aside. Heat butter in a cast iron skillet, then add garlic and cook for a minute. Add sweet potato, salt, pepper to taste. Once sweet potato is cooked, add chives and set aside in separate bowl. Wipe out pan and add a little oil. Put in tofu and cook for a few min on each side, then place in oven to finish cooking about 10 min. I made a sauce to go on it which was @followyourheart garlic aioli, this stuff is the shit. I added dill and lemon juice🌱
